Is my audio ever uploaded anywhere?
Amber's privacy model: everything runs on your device, nothing is uploaded, no account required.
No. Every part of Amber's analysis — tempo and key detection, instrument recognition, transcription, and title generation — runs entirely on your device. Nothing about a recording is ever uploaded, and Amber doesn't have a server to upload it to in the first place.
No account, no sign-in
Amber doesn't ask you to create an account or sign in to anything. There's nothing to lose access to and no login standing between you and your own recordings.
Works fully offline
Recording, tagging, search, and playback all work with no internet connection at all, because none of it depends on a network round-trip anywhere.
The only time anything leaves your device
If you explicitly export or share a recording yourself (see Exporting a recording), that file goes wherever you send it — AirDrop, Files, another app. Outside of an action you took on purpose, nothing leaves your phone.
